BLACKPINK is drawing massive crowds in China as its pop-up stores continue to attract fans in major cities.

According to YG Entertainment on Thursday, the group launched its “BLACKPINK World Tour Pop-up Store” on Aug. 2 in Shanghai, followed by openings in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Beijing. Located in large shopping malls with heavy foot traffic, the pop-up events have become a major hub for fan engagement.

The Shanghai store, the largest among the five cities, required advance reservations limited to 1,500 people per day. Despite the cap, long lines of fans without reservations gathered outside. In Wuhan and Chengdu, where no reservation system was used, queues stretched from inside department stores to the streets outside.

The pop-ups featured concert merchandise, official goods, and albums. Items such as the group’s signature light stick, character keyrings, handheld fans, cameras, tote bags, and T-shirts sold out immediately, prompting restock orders and additional pre-sales.

On Aug. 8, marking the group’s ninth debut anniversary, Shanghai’s Joy City rooftop Ferris wheel lit up in pink with BLACKPINK’s logo, creating a striking night view that delighted fans.

YG added that it plans to expand the activities of its artists in China, including TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. A BABYMONSTER pop-up store event is scheduled for later this month to further strengthen connections with local fans.
