Co-composers of K-Pop Demon Hunters OST “Golden” — EJAE, Lee Yuhan, and Mark Sonnenblick — share their acceptance remarks backstage after the Oscars.

The composers behind the Oscar-winning song “Golden” from the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters have shared the acceptance remarks they were unable to finish during the live ceremony.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a backstage video released on social media shows co-composer EJAE handing the microphone to fellow winners Lee Yuhan and Mark Sonnenblick to complete their speeches after being cut off on stage.

During the ceremony, Lee Yuhan began by thanking his family and collaborators, saying,
“I want to thank my family and colleagues. This honor is unbelievable.”
He then added in Korean, “Thank you.”

Sonnenblick also expressed gratitude to his family and team, while reflecting on the film’s deeper message.

“This film is about learning to understand, trust, and love those we were taught to fear or hate,” he said.
He added, “This project is the result of collaboration among so many animators and creators. A film is like a community.”

He further thanked the artists who contributed to the soundtrack and the fans, saying,
“We are here because of the efforts of so many people.”

The interruption of their acceptance speech during the live broadcast had sparked controversy, prompting the release of the full remarks afterward.

K-Pop Demon Hunters won both Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at this year’s Academy Awards, marking a major milestone for the film and its music team.
