On June 24, the Presidential Policy Planning Committee launched two new task forces—“Regulatory Rationalization” and “Participation and Integration”—bringing the total number of active task forces under the committee to six.
Committee spokesperson Cho Seung-rae explained that the Regulatory Rationalization Task Force aims to improve national competitiveness by realigning regulatory frameworks with the new administration’s philosophy, while also reinforcing regulations related to public safety, health, and the environment to enhance quality of life.
This task force will address reforms in areas such as artificial intelligence, deep tech, and energy, as well as daily life-related regulations. It is led by lawmaker Oh Ki-hyung and consists of 11 members.
The Participation and Integration Task Force, headed by Lee Tae-ho, executive director of People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, was also launched to promote political participation and explore social integration strategies.
As of June 24, the six active task forces officially announced by the Policy Planning Committee are: Government Reorganization TF, National Vision TF, Tax and Fiscal System Reform TF, Five-Year Governance Plan TF, Participation and Integration TF, and Regulatory Rationalization TF.
The committee also announced plans to establish additional task forces on national AI technology strategy, balanced regional development, and national sovereignty.
Furthermore, the committee intends to launch new task forces to handle issues related to health, welfare, gender, labor, human rights, and veterans’ affairs, in order to refine and prioritize national policy goals.
