Actor Hwang Jung-min's agency defined the author of posts regarding his private life circulating online as a stalking crime suspect, foreshadowing additional legal action.

Hwang Jung-min's agency, Sem Company, stated to Asia Today on July 29, "The author of the malicious posts regarding Hwang Jung-min is a stalking crime suspect who has continuously harassed him."

According to the agency, Hwang Jung-min filed criminal charges against the author, and the court imposed provisional measures, including restraining orders, on three occasions against the suspect. The court also issued a summary order with a fine of 3 million won upon recognizing the stalking charges.

Sem Company stated, "We plan to pursue additional legal action regarding the maliciously edited posts as well," adding, "We apologize for causing concern over this matter."

Earlier that day, expository posts concerning Hwang Jung-min's private life spread rapidly across online communities and social media. The post author claimed to have been in a romantic relationship with Hwang Jung-min and released audio transcripts and messaging logs, sparking controversy.

Despite the controversy, Hwang Jung-min will attend the stage greetings for the film HOPE scheduled for that day. Sem Company stated, "He will attend the stage greetings scheduled for today for the film HOPE without any changes," and distributor Plus M Entertainment also noted, "There are no changes."

Hwang Jung-min is scheduled to meet audiences alongside director Na Hong-jin and HOPE cast members including Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon, and Eum Moon-suk at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, Megabox COEX, and other venues on that day.
