Jennie of BLACKPINK drew global attention with an even more electrifying set during the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held on April 21 in Indio, California.
Making history as the first K-pop soloist to perform on Coachella’s major Outdoor Theater stage, Jennie delivered a live set of 13 songs, captivating fans who sang along and cheered throughout the show.
One of the night’s most touching moments came as she performed “Starlight,” a track featuring the lyrics “I wanted to make my mom proud.” Spotting her mother in the audience, Jennie called out, “I love you, mom,” prompting an emotional response as her mother was seen wiping away tears.
For the second weekend, Jennie offered a fresh experience with new arrangements and stage compositions, distinguishing the performance from her first-week set. She showcased a dynamic dance break version of her debut solo hit “SOLO” following her latest track “like JENNIE.”
Closing out the set, Jennie expressed her gratitude to fans: “Thank you so much for coming to my show tonight. I’ll never forget this night. I love you all so much,” she said, visibly moved.
Following her debut performance the previous weekend, Jennie was the only K-pop artist featured in Billboard’s “Hottest Performances of Coachella Weekend One.” Her stage video for “like JENNIE” soared to No. 2 on YouTube’s Worldwide Music Video Trending list and No. 3 among top rising videos, further amplifying her global impact.
Launched in 1999, Coachella is the largest music festival in the United States, drawing over 200,000 attendees each year for its two-weekend celebration in California’s Coachella Valley.
