Chef Choi Kang-rok appears in a YouTube video clip, drawing attention for his generous gesture after winning a cooking competition.

Choi Kang-rok, winner of the cooking competition Black and White Chef 2, is drawing renewed attention for a generous act that recently resurfaced.

According to fellow chef Song Hoon, the incident took place during a group dinner with other chefs following the wedding of chef Choi Hyun-seok’s daughter. As the bill turned out to be quite large, Song attempted to pay for the meal, only to discover that someone had already covered the entire cost.

“The person who paid was Choi Kang-rok,” Song said.

At the time, the winner of the competition had not yet been announced, and attendees were unaware of the final result. However, Song said he later inferred that Choi had won after piecing together various circumstances.

Following his victory, Choi has continued his media appearances, featuring in programs such as Foodie and Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, further expanding his presence in the culinary entertainment scene.
