Sunwoo of THE BOYZ |
As controversy continues to mount over THE BOYZ member Sunwoo’s behavior, his agency One Hundred broke its silence after ten days and issued a formal apology on April 14.
“We are fully aware of the controversy surrounding Sunwoo in recent days,” the agency stated. “We deeply apologize for our failure to properly manage issues related to the artist’s demeanor.”

The company acknowledged that “the footage of Sunwoo could understandably raise concerns about his character,” and added, “After discussions with the agency, Sunwoo has been quietly reflecting on the matter.”
However, the agency also expressed regret over the growing public backlash. “It’s unfortunate that the situation is unfolding in a direction that diverges from our and the artist’s efforts to show remorse,” the statement said, warning that they are preparing to take “strong legal action against baseless and malicious comments” to protect their artist.
The controversy began after a video surfaced online showing Sunwoo dropping his wireless earphones, exclaiming “My AirPods!” and seemingly waiting for a security guard to retrieve them. He accepted the item one-handed and did not appear to express thanks, sparking criticism for being “rude” and entitled.

In response, Sunwoo wrote to fans on April 12 through a fan platform, explaining that he had shouted in confusion and did say “thank you” to the security guard after receiving the item. Despite this clarification, the criticism has shown little sign of subsiding.
