The winner of Netflix’s cooking survival series Culinary Class Wars: Season 2 will be revealed on Jan. 13, as the show airs its highly anticipated finale.
In the final episode (Episode 13), Chef Choi Kang-rok and one remaining finalist will face off with what they describe as the most important dishes of their lives. Choi secured a direct ticket to the final after earning the highest score with a single dish in the first semifinal round, titled “Infinite Cooking Paradise.”
The final opponent will be decided between Chef Hudukjuk and contestant known as “Cooking Monster.” The two advanced from the second semifinal round, “Infinite Cooking Hell,” where they competed using carrots as the sole ingredient.
Judges Baek Jong-won and Ahn Sung-jae will determine the last finalist after evaluating Hudukjuk’s “Eoyang Carrot” and Cooking Monster’s “Carrot Cake.”
Episodes 11 and 12, released on Jan. 6, narrowed the competition to a top seven that included Im Sung-geun, Yoon Jumo (known for traditional liquor brewing), Hudukjuk, Monk Seonjae, Choi Kang-rok, Jung Ho-young, and Cooking Monster.
Ahead of the finale, controversy has resurfaced over what some viewers call a “self-spoiler” by the production team. During a recent episode, Cooking Monster’s real name, Lee Ha-seong, was briefly visible on a name tag during an interview segment, prompting speculation online that the finalists—or even the winner—may have already been decided.
This has reignited long-running rumors that Choi Kang-rok could ultimately take the title, raising curiosity over whether the outcome will match audience predictions.
The final episode of Culinary Class Wars: Season 2 will be released at 5 p.m. on Jan. 13 via Netflix.
According to Netflix’s official site Tudum, the show ranked third in the non-English TV category from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4, after topping the chart for two consecutive weeks earlier.
