Stray Kids, Jennie dominate Golden Disc Awards

K-pop group Stray Kids and Jennie of BLACKPINK emerged as the biggest winners at the 40th Golden Disc Awards, taking home the top prizes in album and artist categories, respectively.

The ceremony was held on Jan. 10 at Taipei Dome in Taiwan. Stray Kids captured the night’s highest album honor—the Album Daesang—with their full-length album KARMA, while also receiving the Album Bonsang, making them double winners.

Jennie claimed a total of four trophies, including Artist of the Year. She and BLACKPINK were both named winners of the Digital Song Bonsang, and Jennie also received the Global Impact Award with Prism, cementing her status as the ceremony’s top multi-award recipient.

G-Dragon secured three awards, winning the Digital Song Daesang as well as Digital Song Bonsang and Album Bonsang. Judges cited his genre-spanning musical influence and strong results following his return as key factors behind the honors.

Rookie of the Year awards went to All-Day Project and Cortés. Popularity awards were presented to Jin of BTS and Hearts2Hearts, highlighting their enduring fan support.

This year’s Golden Disc Awards showcased a wide spectrum of artistic achievements, reaffirming K-pop’s expanding reach and continued prominence on the global music stage.
