The production team behind Netflix’s cooking survival series Culinary Class Wars: Season 2 has announced a zero-tolerance policy toward malicious posts and messages targeting participating chefs, warning that there will be “no leniency” in pursuing legal action.

In a statement released Monday via the YouTube channel of production company Studio Slam, the team said personal attacks, hateful comments and defamatory messages directed at specific chefs—often sent through private social media accounts—have continued to circulate.

“These actions seriously damage the chefs’ reputations and leave deep, lasting wounds on participants who are private individuals,” the producers said. They added that evidence of defamation and harassment is being systematically collected and that confirmed offenders will face strong legal measures without exception.

The production team also urged viewers to refrain from “indiscriminate criticism and personal insults that go beyond healthy commentary.”

Following the announcement, hundreds of comments poured into the YouTube post, revealing divided public opinion. Supporters argued that tracking down chefs’ personal social media accounts to hurl abuse “must be punished” and said legal action was long overdue.

Others criticized the move as selective, questioning why similar action was not taken during Season 1 when certain chefs faced sustained online attacks. Some viewers also revived allegations of “evil editing,” arguing that production choices amplified backlash and that explanations or apologies regarding editing and direction should come first.

Additional comments called for equal protection for all participants, saying the issue of online abuse should be addressed separately from concerns over how the show is edited and produced.

Episodes 11 and 12 of Culinary Class Wars: Season 2 are set to be released at 5:11 p.m. Monday. The episodes will determine the final Top 7 lineup, following a showdown between “White Spoon” chef Son Jong-won and the contestant known as “Cooking Monster” for the last remaining spot.
