Producer Teddy has received the Prime Minister’s Commendation in the overseas expansion category at the 2025 Korea Content Awards, in recognition of his contribution to the globalization of Korean content.
The awards ceremony was held on December 10 at COEX in Seoul’s Gangnam District. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency, the event honored creators and companies that have significantly advanced Korea’s content industry over the past year.
A leading producer who helped bring K-pop onto the global stage, Teddy has crafted hit songs for BIGBANG, 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, among others, producing music that wields major influence in international markets. Since founding The Black Label, he has broadened his scope by discovering artists with a distinct identity, and has been credited with helping to shape the trajectory of fifth-generation K-pop by debuting girl group MIYAO and rookie group ALLDAY Project in succession.
His work has also expanded beyond music into the wider content industry. Teddy composed key tracks for the Netflix animated film K-pop Demon Hunters, a contribution seen as boosting the visibility of Korean content on global streaming platforms.
A representative from The Black Label said, “Worldwide interest in K-culture is a powerful driving force for new creation,” adding, “We will continue to devote our efforts to the growth and development of K-content.”
