Hwasa has claimed her first-ever music-show trophy with “Good Goodbye,” solidifying the reverse-run phenomenon that has propelled the song back up the charts.

On the December 6 broadcast of MBC’s Show! Music Core, Hwasa took the No. 1 spot with “Good Goodbye”—a notable achievement given that she did not appear on the program. The win comes roughly two months after the song’s official release in October, adding to its significance.

Since its debut, Good Goodbye has steadily climbed the charts fueled by word of mouth. Momentum surged after Hwasa’s performance with actor Park Jung-min at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, which went viral. The track then topped six major domestic streaming charts and became the first song by a solo female artist this year to achieve a “perfect all-kill,” marking the peak of its resurgence.

The song has also made waves globally, reaching No. 43 on Billboard’s Global 200, No. 2 on World Digital Song Sales, and debuting at No. 1 on the newly launched Billboard Korea Hot 100.

Hwasa, who signed with P Nation in 2023 under the leadership of Psy, has continued to expand her range as a soloist with tracks such as “I Love My Body,” “NA,” and “Good Goodbye,” cementing her status as a “solo queen.”
