Director Park Chan-wook’s remarkable run on the global film circuit shows no sign of slowing. The filmmaker received the International Auteur Award for his latest film No Other Choice at the 28th SCAD Savannah Film Festival in Georgia, the United States, on October 25, local time, CJ ENM announced Monday.
Hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), the festival is one of the largest university-run film events in the world, showcasing a wide range of works—from student films to major commercial and independent productions.
The International Auteur Award is presented to filmmakers who have built a distinctive artistic vision and contributed uniquely to world cinema. This year, Park joined a lineup of high-profile honorees that included Brendan Fraser, Amanda Seyfried, and Kristen Stewart.
Park’s latest recognition adds to a series of major awards for No Other Choice. The film premiered in competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, before going on to win the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Best Director Award at Spain’s Sitges Film Festival, and the Global Impact Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
With each new accolade, Park continues to reinforce his reputation as one of global cinema’s most visionary auteurs.
