Actor Lee Yi-kyung has denied allegations surrounding his private life and announced plans for legal action against the spread of false information online, his agency said Tuesday.

In a statement released by Sanyang ENT, the agency said, “We are preparing legal measures against the spread of falsehoods and malicious rumors circulating on online communities and social media. Given the seriousness of the matter, we are assessing damages caused by defamation and will proceed with all necessary legal procedures.”

The company added, “Not only the original posters but also those who share or repost such content will face legal consequences. We urge everyone to refrain from further dissemination to prevent unnecessary harm.” The agency said it is actively monitoring the situation and collecting reports from fans to protect the actor’s rights.

The controversy began after a post titled “Revealing the true side of Lee Yi-kyung” appeared on an online community. The author, identified only as “A,” uploaded screenshots of messages allegedly exchanged with Lee. However, Sanyang ENT refuted the claims, calling them “clearly false,” and said A had previously sent a threatening email about five months ago demanding money. “When we announced legal action at the time, A sent an apology letter,” the agency explained.

As the controversy grew, A posted a new statement on her blog, saying she “never asked for money” but admitted to “asking for help once because I couldn’t turn to my parents.” She claimed the post was meant “to prevent other victims.”

A also identified herself as a German national with limited Korean proficiency, but the agency reiterated that its legal response would remain unchanged.

Lee Yi-kyung made his film debut in White Night and is best known for his roles in dramas such as Welcome to Waikiki and Marry My Husband, as well as his appearances on variety shows like Hangout With Yoo and I Am Solo.
