Netflix’s Korean fantasy romance series “Genie, Make a Wish” has held onto the No. 1 spot worldwide for two consecutive weeks.

According to Netflix’s official Tudum Top 10 on October 15 (local time), the series recorded 8 million views — measured by total viewing hours divided by runtime — from October 6 to 12, ranking first in the Global TV (Non-English) category. It also entered the Top 10 list in 50 countries and took the No. 1 spot in 10, including Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In South Korea, Genie, Make a Wish has ranked No. 1 for two consecutive weeks in overall buzz across TV and OTT platforms, according to data from Good Data Corporation. Cast members Suzy and Kim Woo-bin also topped the individual popularity rankings, placing first and second, respectively.

Written by renowned screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, known as a “master of romantic comedies,” the series has been praised for its emotional depth and witty storytelling. The story follows Genie (played by Kim Woo-bin), an immortal being who has lived for a thousand years, and Ga-young (Suzy), a human woman whose encounter with him unfolds into a tender and otherworldly romance.

Kim Woo-bin earned acclaim for portraying the unique character with nuance and restraint, while Suzy received praise for her delicate depiction of a woman struggling with suppressed emotions. The two actors’ reunion after nine years has been celebrated for rekindling the signature chemistry and emotional resonance of a Kim Eun-sook romance.

Genie, Make a Wish is now streaming on Netflix.
