‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ original soundtrack (OST) placed No. 2 on the Billboard 200, marking its 16th straight week on the chart.
According to a Billboard preview published on Oct. 13, the OST ranked second behind Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl.
The OST logged about 96,000 equivalent album units, down roughly 7% week over week, slipping one spot to No. 2 while extending its run of 10 consecutive weeks at the runner-up position and 16 total weeks on the Billboard 200.
By contrast, Swift’s album posted a historic tally. The Life of a Showgirl amassed 4,002,000 album units during the tracking week—the highest since Billboard adopted electronic sales monitoring in 1991. Pure album sales alone reached 3,479,500, surpassing the 3,378,000 benchmark set by Adele’s 25 in 2015.
Notably, since her 2008 sophomore album Fearless, Swift has taken every studio album—and her re-recorded projects—to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, underscoring her unmatched chart dominance.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums by combining physical sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA).
