Singer-songwriter EJAE, who wrote, composed, and performed “Golden”, the theme song of Netflix’s animated film K-pop Demon Hunters (also known as KDH), is set to appear on tvN’s popular talk show You Quiz on the Block.
According to CJ ENM on Thursday, EJAE will record the show during her visit to Korea around Oct. 15, when she is scheduled to attend a local press conference. The broadcast date has not yet been confirmed.
Widely known as the granddaughter of veteran actor Shin Young-kyun, EJAE is expected to talk on You Quiz about the production of the KDH original soundtrack, her recent live performance of “Golden” on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and anecdotes from her trainee days at SM Entertainment.
On Oct. 7 (local time), EJAE performed “Golden” alongside Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami, who also sang for KDH, in their first-ever full live rendition on The Tonight Show. The performance video quickly went viral, surpassing 6.11 million views on YouTube within a day of release.
The trio had previously surprised fans by making an unannounced cameo during the Oct. 4 episode of Saturday Night Live, performing the song’s chorus to thunderous applause. On The Tonight Show, they drew praise for their near-perfect live vocals, with some viewers joking it was “too flawless to be live.”
Meanwhile, “Golden” continues to dominate global music charts, recently topping both Billboard’s Hot 100 and Billboard 200 simultaneously — the eighth time the single has reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 and the second time it has led both charts at once, following last month’s feat.
