The animated series K-pop Demon Hunters (“Kedeheon”) has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Netflix title to surpass 300 million cumulative views.

According to Netflix’s official site Tudum on September 17, the series has logged 314.2 million views, calculated by dividing total viewing hours by runtime. This figure is the highest ever recorded among all Netflix films and shows.

Released on June 20, the show already claimed the overall No. 1 spot two weeks ago, pulling far ahead of Squid Game Season 1 (265.2 million views) and Wednesday Season 1 (252.1 million views). Netflix ranks its most-watched content by tallying cumulative viewing numbers during the first 91 days after release.

K-pop Demon Hunters tells the story of the girl group Huntrix as they battle evil spirits to save the world. Since its premiere, it has remained in Netflix’s global Top 10 English-language TV shows for 13 consecutive weeks. From September 8 to 14, it garnered 22.6 million views, maintaining its weekly No. 1 ranking and topping charts in 39 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Argentina.

The series’ soundtrack has also been a sensation. The lead track Golden has spent five consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, while the album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200—making it the first K-pop project in five years to dominate both charts simultaneously. The last act to achieve the feat was BTS in December 2020 with the album Be and its title track Life Goes On.
