Woozi of boy group SEVENTEEN enlisted on September 15 to begin his mandatory military service.
Agency Pledis Entertainment said the singer-songwriter entered a training camp that day and will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army after completing basic training.
On the eve of his enlistment, Woozi made a surprise appearance at SEVENTEEN’s world tour concert held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 14. Sporting a short haircut, he quietly watched from the audience to support his bandmates.
After the show, he posted a message to fans on Weverse: “It was my first time seeing the members and CARATs smiling to a song I wrote, from the audience’s perspective. That made me really happy. I’m going with lots of strength. I’ll return healthy.”
Woozi is the third SEVENTEEN member to enlist, following Jeonghan and Wonwoo. Fellow member Hoshi is set to start his service on September 16. With staggered enlistments, the group is expected to face a hiatus from full-unit activities.
