Actor So Ji-sub is making a comeback to television in SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Manager Kim, slated to premiere in 2026.

The drama is based on the popular webtoon Manager Kim and tells the story of an ordinary savings bank employee who must confront his hidden past as a secret operative in order to save his daughter. The character, Manager Kim, is a former inter-Korean espionage agent at the top of North Korea’s blacklist, whose existence must remain hidden even in the South.

The series adapts the hit webtoon by Park Tae-joon Comic Company, a spinoff set in the shared universe of Lookism, How to Fight, and Reality Quest. The original webtoon topped Naver’s Tuesday charts and gained a huge following.

The script is written by Nam Dae-joong, known for films such as The Great Wish and 30 Days, with direction by Lee Seung-young, whose credits include Tracer, Voice 2, and Wonderful World.

The production team commented, “With a strong original story as the foundation, we expect So Ji-sub to deliver a multidimensional performance that blends noir-style action with the heartfelt struggles of fatherhood.”
