Actor Jung Il-woo has drawn attention by stepping into the role of an investor in overseas film distribution.
According to the film industry on September 9, Jung recently took part in the domestic import of the horror-romance film Together, which is currently enjoying a successful run in Korean theaters.
His agency, J1 International Company, said, “He was drawn to the film’s originality in combining romance and horror to question the essence of love and relationships. He plans to stay active as an investor in foreign film imports to help introduce fresh works to Korean audiences.”
Jung made his debut in 2006 through the MBC sitcom High Kick! and is currently starring in the KBS2 weekend drama Glorious Days. He also proved his box-office appeal abroad with the Korea-Vietnam co-produced film Going to Abandon Mother, which has seen success in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Together, released exclusively at CGV theaters on September 3, tells the story of a couple who, after moving to a rural village to overcome relationship fatigue, encounter a bizarre phenomenon in which their bodies gradually begin to fuse together.
