Singer Psy has been booked on charges of violating medical law for allegedly receiving prescription sleeping pills through a third party, police confirmed on August 27. His agency, P Nation, admitted the misconduct and issued a public apology.

In a statement released on August 28, the agency said, “The act of receiving prescription sleeping medication through another person was a clear mistake, and we deeply regret it. We sincerely apologize for causing concern.”

According to police, Psy, who has been diagnosed with chronic sleep disorders, has long been prescribed sleeping medication under medical supervision. P Nation clarified that there had been no proxy prescriptions, but acknowledged that “at certain times, sleeping pills were picked up on his behalf by another person.”

The agency added that Psy has been fully cooperating with the investigation and pledged greater caution in the future. “We will make sure such matters do not recur. We apologize once again to fans and the public for causing concern,” the statement said.
