‘Squid Game’ sweeps six awards at U.S. Gold Derby TV Awards

Netflix hit series Squid Game scored big at the 2025 Gold Derby TV Awards, winning six honors including Best Drama Series and Best Ensemble, organizers announced on August 18 (local time).

 

Lee Jung-jae, who plays protagonist Seong Gi-hun, took home Best Actor in a Drama, while Kang Ae-shim won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Jang Geum-ja. Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P), who appeared as Thanos, received Best Supporting Actor, and Gong Yoo won Best Guest Actor for his role as the mysterious “ddakji man.” The cast collectively earned the Ensemble of the Year award as well.

 

The awards, which celebrate achievements in drama, comedy, animation, and film, recognized works released from last year through this year, including Squid Game Season 2 (December 2024) and Season 3 (June 2025).

 

Launched in 2003, the Gold Derby Awards are organized by U.S. entertainment site Gold Derby and are now in their 22nd year.
