Monsta X is building anticipation for its comeback with the pre-release track “Do What I Want.”

On August 16, agency Starship Entertainment unveiled the music video teaser for “Do What I Want,” a pre-release single from the group’s upcoming mini-album “The X,” on its official YouTube channel.

The teaser opens with a sharp vocal chop, immediately making an impact. With the narration “Is this what you want?” the members match the beat with playful yet confident gestures, showcasing both charisma and spontaneity.

As the title suggests, “Do What I Want” carries the message of living and acting freely. Member Jooheon participated in writing and composing, while I.M contributed lyrics, embedding Monsta X’s signature style into the track. The song also hints at the sonic direction of “The X,” set for release on September 1.

“Do What I Want” will officially drop on August 18 at 6 p.m. across major music platforms.
