Netflix’s animated film “K-pop Demon Hunters” has become the most-watched original animated film in the platform’s history.
According to Netflix’s official global social media on July 30, the film has recorded approximately 220.8 million viewing hours and about 132.4 million views, ranking first worldwide among original animated films.
K-pop Demon Hunters follows Huntress, a K-pop girl group that battles evil spirits using music and weapons. Their song “Golden” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, while eight tracks from the film’s soundtrack simultaneously entered the chart for three consecutive weeks, continuing its global success.
Meanwhile, Netflix’s original series “Squid Game Season 3” maintained its top spot in the non-English category for the fifth consecutive week, with 28.59 million viewing hours and 4.6 million views in the fourth week of July. Since its release on June 27, the series has accumulated around 134.7 million views, ranking third among all non-English series on Netflix.
K-pop Demon Hunters tells the story of Huntress as hidden heroes who protect the world behind the scenes of their glamorous stage life, blending fantasy action with the K-pop phenomenon.
