“We decided to stand together again so that the time you waited for us wouldn’t be in vain.”

On July 16, MONSTA X held a press conference at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, where the members reflected on their 10-year journey and expressed gratitude to their fans, Monbebe. “We came this far because of Monbebe,” they said, adding, “Just as we’ve supported one another over the past 10 years, we’ll continue to protect the stage together.”

The group will hold a full-member concert titled 2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X from July 18 to 20 at KSPO Dome in Seoul to mark their 10th anniversary. Following the staggered enlistment of members starting with leader Shownu in 2021, all members except youngest member I.M have now completed their military service and are back to promote as a full group. I.M has not enlisted yet.

Discussing changes since returning from service, Hyungwon said he was surprised by how little had changed: “Our approach to practice and even our playful energy are the same.” Shownu noted, “Our conversations now carry more depth and consideration.” Jooheon added, “Fans will be able to feel both nostalgia and freshness in our upcoming promotions.”

I.M joked that while no date is set for his enlistment, “I’ll gladly serve when the country calls. For now, I’ll focus on promotions while listening to my hyungs’ military stories.”

Responding to praise that the group has only grown more popular over time, Kihyun said, “I think the relaxed and confident vibe we’ve developed in our 30s appeals to fans.” He also revealed they are working on a new album. Jooheon confirmed the album has already been recorded and is slated for release as early as September.

On balancing mainstream appeal and MONSTA X’s signature style, Minhyuk said, “We had extensive discussions over the title track. There’s no perfect answer, but we ultimately agreed on one direction. We’re nervous and excited.” Confident in the album, he added, “Every song is strong enough to be a title track. I think we’ve achieved both public appeal and our unique sound.”

The members also emphasized how much they want to repay fans’ patience. Hyungwon remarked, “Waiting is one of the hardest emotions. We wanted to thank our fans through the stage.” Minhyuk shared that he personally suggested a free fan meeting after his discharge: “The biggest gift we can offer is ourselves on stage.”

Closing the event, I.M expressed his hope to carry on Monbebe’s legacy of kindness. “Just as our fans continue to give through voluntary donations, we also want to spread good influence in Monbebe’s name.”
