Director Kwak Kyung-taek's "Friend 2" reached 1 million viewers.
According to the Korean Film Council, 'Friend 2' attracted 1.07 million admissions over the weekend, sitting number one spot at the box office.
"Friend 2" reached 1 million viewers in the shortest amount of time out of the rated-R movies. Hitting 1 million viewers on midnight of November 17, just three days after its premiere on the 14th, it surpassed previous movie records: "Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time" and "New World" hit 1 million in 4 days, "Tazza: The High Rollers" in 5, and "The Man From Nowhere" in 6.
"Friend 2" hit one million quicker even than other movies that are not rated-R, like "Masquerade" and "Miracle in Cell No. 7" which hit 1.2 million.
