Naver to launch Hope Foundation to support smaller businesses

On October 28, Naver announced that it will launch 'Hope Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprises' within this year to promote small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) supporting programs.

Hope Foundation will be supporting SMEs' online marketing activation measures, and seeking collaborative business opportunities between traditional and online industries. For this reason, it plans to operate 'Online business cooperation committee' (tentative title) and 'Small business economic association' composed of professionals.

Naver has established a 10 billion won fund for the efficient operation of the foundation. The company plans to form additional fund worth of 20 billion won in the second and third year, respectively.

The Hope Foundation board of directors will be consisted of representatives from various fields including small businesses, and academic and legal circles.

An official from Naver stated, "The foundation establishment has reaffirmed Naver's willingness for the coexistence with smaller enterprises, which are the basis of the national economy."
