Naver chief joins “trillionaire club”

Sixteen Koreans own more than W1 trillion worth of assets, data showed on Tuesday.

Chaebol.com (www.chaebul.com), a domestic consultancy, said on Wednesday that Korea's trillionaires include Samsung tycoon Lee Kun-hee and Naver chief Lee Hae-jin.

Naver head Lee's shares came to 1.0454 trillion won, surpassing the 1 trillion wall for the first time in the domestic local stock market. Lee's shares recorded 508.5 billion won from the first trading session of this year. Naver's stock price jumped 8.97 percent from 580,000 won per share on the 14th to 632,000 won on the 15th.

Samsung head Lee Kun-hee kept the leader's spot holding 11.7368 trillion won in stocks.

Following Lee Kun-hee were Chung Mong-koo, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group with 7.1522 trillion won, and Chung Eui-sun, vice chairman of Hyundai Motor Group with 3.401 trillion won.
