Crayon Pop has been embroiled in plagiarism controversy.

On August 19, a post was uploaded on an online community claiming that Crayon Pop has plagiarized Japanese girl group Momoiro Clover Z.

Both groups are known to have uncommon concepts. The post claimed that Momoiro Clover Z wore track suits and helmets to perform on stage and Crayon Pop copied their concepts.

Momoiro Clover Z made their debut in 2008 and appeared at Japan's popular annual TV singing contest, 'Red and White Song Battle' in 2012.

Netizens commented, "They look very similar", "It seems like they plagiarized plainly", and more.
