As duo LeeSsang is embroiled in controversy over their new building and abusing their power as the owner of the building, LeeSsang's Gil posted a letter of clarification.

On May 21, a media outlet reported that LeeSsang had purchased a building in Garosugil in Seoul and they refused to extend a renting contract with a restaurant in the first floor of the building. The media reported that LeeSsang forced the restaurant out of the building and would open a new restaurant on their own."

On the same day, Gil clarified on his Twitter saying, "The building became ours in May 2012, and decided to enter the building in August. Around June, one of the renters suddenly came to our home without any prior notice and told my mother, who was alone at home, that he would never be leaving the building. That's why we hesitated to handle it by ourselves. Later, through a representative, we told the man that we would not extend his contract once it expires and tried to decide on proper compensation out of responsibility. The renter demanded 300 million won excluding the deposit."

Gil added, "He is not eligible for renter protection under the law. What should we do? The contract already expired in October 2012, but he continues to maintain his restaurant. We became greedy, weird people after all."

Netizens commented, "Now I understand reading Gil's post", "This is why we need to listen to both sides", "I was almost going to misunderstand", and more.
