Psy‘s ’Gentleman‘ video reaches 20m views in a single day

Singer Psy's new music video 'Gentleman' reached over 20 million views. The music video had been watched more than 18 million views on YouTube less than 24 hours, making a new record for most Youtube views in a single day.

The video channel registered 22.5 million hits as of 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, according to Psy's official Youtube channel. This record is made within 25 hours of its release on April 13 at 9 p.m..

The video's view is drawing attention as it broke the record of Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend", which reached over 8 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its released in May 2012.

Meanwhile, Psy's new single "Gentleman" was revealed through iTunes in 119 countries. It has entered iTunes' Top 100 singles chart in 64 countries as of 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
