Traditional Korean art performance "Miso" (meaning "beautiful smile") enchants foreigners. Chondong Theater launches the fourth version of the traditional musical 'MISO'
On April 2, the Chongdong Theater updated its traditional musical "Miso" (meaning "beautiful smile"), which plays a significant role in spreading South Korean Wave to the foreign tourists.
Based on "The Story of Chunhyang", "Miso" has been loved by the audience for the past fifteen years and has evolved into a Korean traditional art performance encompassing Korean dance, instrumental music, folk band performance, pansori, and others. The initial title of the performance was "Korean Traditional Art Stage" when its run began in 1997 and was changed to "Miso" in 2008.
This time, Chongdong Theater launched the fourth version of "Miso". Its new choreography and music grab the attention of the audience and its new stage expresses the four seasons of Korea using a video screen. The screen, which is created for the foreign audience, shows the subtle emotions of the actors.
Being all sold out, the opening concert impressed the audience with its iconic cultural experience. Daniel, who watched the opening concert, said, "It feels like I experienced all the aspects of Korea through 'Miso'. Next time I visit Korea, I would like to watch 'Miso' again," turning his thumb up.
