Hwang In-beom helped Porto secure their first victory of the league phase in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Porto cruised to a 4-1 victory over Napoli of Italy in their fourth league-phase match of the 2026-27 UCL at Estádio do Dragão in Porto, Portugal, on Wednesday. It was the first time Porto had scored at least three goals in a Champions League match since beating Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk 5-3 in December 2023.

After losing their first three league-phase matches, Porto claimed a crucial first victory to improve to one win and three losses, with three points and a goal difference of minus one. Although level on points with Napoli, who also have one win and three losses, three points and a goal difference of minus five, Porto moved ahead on goal difference to take 26th place. Napoli sit 27th.

With South Korea's interim national football team head coach Robert Moreno watching from the stands as part of his assessment of Europe-based players, Hwang came off the bench for Gabri Veiga in the 78th minute, with Porto leading 2-1. Just two minutes after coming on, Hwang provided an assist for Porto's third goal. Jakub Kiwior headed home Hwang's corner kick to extend the lead.

The assist brought Hwang's tally this season to one goal and two assists in competitive matches, comprising one goal and one assist in the domestic league and one assist in the Champions League.

Porto sealed their 4-1 victory when Samu Aghehowa calmly converted a penalty in the 90th minute after Napoli defender Rafa Marín committed a foul inside the penalty area in the 88th minute.

Meanwhile, defender Lee Han-beom, who plays for Club Brugge of Belgium, did not feature in his team's away match against PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands in the fourth round of the UCL league phase at Philips Stadion in Eindhoven on the same day. Club Brugge defeated PSV 2-1 to extend their winning streak to three matches and improve to three wins and one loss, with nine points, moving up to ninth place. PSV, with one win, one draw and two losses for four points, dropped to 24th.
