The Catholic Committee for Justice and Peace voiced opposition to sending troops to the Strait of Hormuz, demanding that our soldiers not be exploited for the bizarre logic of great powers.

The Justice and Peace Committees of 14 dioceses, including the Archdiocese of Seoul, issued a joint statement on the 11th, stating, "War entails the sacrifice of human life, escalates into further conflict, and undermines international law and the order of the international community, which is why we oppose war itself. Furthermore, we actively oppose the dispatch of troops intended for that war." The committees added, "Beyond opposing troop deployment, we oppose even discussing the dispatch itself."

They emphasized, "The armed forces of the Republic of Korea exist to protect the people of the Republic of Korea. We must ensure that our precious children, who walk the path of soldiers out of love for their families and for the peace of our country, are not used as tools by selfish leaders."

They further stated, "There is no justification for this war. Just as the armed forces of the Republic of Korea protect us, we will now protect our military from being deployed abroad."
