RESCENE, the girl group known for its unprecedented reverse-chart-climb success, has been appointed as a Gyeongju tourism ambassador.
Gyeongju Mayor Ju Nak-yeong recently said on his Instagram, "Today, we held a Silla princess procession and a ceremony awarding honorary Silla princess certificates at Rawon with RESCENE, who were appointed as Gyeongju tourism ambassadors."
At the event, RESCENE members wore traditional Silla-style attire and took part in the procession under a Silla princess concept, receiving honorary Silla princess certificates.
Mayor Ju said, "Seeing all five members, including Jena, who is from Gyeongju, become honorary Silla princesses in Silla attire felt like looking at the flying apsaras carved on the Bell of King Seongdeok."
He added that he expects the photos and videos filmed that day to become great content for spreading Gyeongju's new charm, where a thousand years of history meets K-pop.
He also said, "RESCENE is now part of Gyeongju's family," adding that he hopes the group will shine even brighter on the world stage while also sharing Gyeongju's beauty.
Along with the post, Mayor Ju shared photos of RESCENE members dressed in traditional hanbok for the Silla princess-themed shoot, showing the members posing in traditional attire for commemorative photos.
