The National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee finalized its decision to hold a hearing addressing pending issues surrounding the Korea Football Association on July 30.

During a general meeting on July 21—held without the participation of lawmakers from the People Power Party—the committee passed a resolution amending the plan for the hearing on KFA issues and confirmed the schedule for July 30.

The committee had originally scheduled the hearing for July 22, but postponed it due to delays in negotiations over the Assembly's committee organization.

"Fortunately, progress is reportedly being made in the committee organization negotiations," said Committee Chair Lee Jae-jung of the Democratic Party of Korea. "I hope lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties join forces in this forum to address the various questions raised by the public, help normalize the Korea Football Association, and enable it to foster the healthy development of Korean football."

Fifteen individuals, including former KFA President Chung Mong-gyu and former National Team Head Coach Hong Myung-bo, have been summoned to appear as witnesses at the hearing. Additionally, eight individuals—including Park Ji-sung, co-chair of the K-Football Innovation Committee, and Ryu Seung-min, president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee—were designated as reference witnesses.
