The National Pension Service (NPS) has recorded its highest-ever number of international awards, with global investment institutions recognizing its asset management capabilities and investment performance.
The Investment Management Office of the National Pension Service announced on July 1st that it won a total of seven awards at ceremonies hosted by global investment media outlets this year, gaining recognition for its outstanding investment capabilities and achievements among major pension funds worldwide.
In March, PERE (Private Equity Real Estate), a global real estate investment publication, named the NPS as the "Institutional Investor of the Year." PERE highly evaluated the NPS for its successful real estate investment track record, portfolio diversification, and efforts to discover investment opportunities through global partnerships.
Following this, AAM (Asian Asset Management), an Asia-Pacific financial investment publication, selected the NPS as the "Best Pension Fund in the Asia-Pacific Region" and the "Best Pension Fund in Korea." AAM cited stable asset management performance, systematic risk management, and efforts to strengthen overseas investment capabilities as the key reasons for the awards.
In May, at the "Real Estate Global Awards 2026" hosted by the UK-based real assets investment publication IPE Real Assets, the NPS won the top prize in the "Portfolio Construction" category and excellence awards in the "Asia-Pacific Investor" and "Core/Core-Plus Strategy" categories. IPE highly praised the NPS for expanding its global investment network based on a stable investment framework, while enhancing investment efficiency and diversification capabilities.
Furthermore, on June 30th (local time), the NPS received the "Investor of the Year" award at the "Triple A Sustainable Investing Awards 2026" hosted by The Asset, an Asia-Pacific financial investment magazine.
The Asset highlighted that the NPS has continuously diversified its investment portfolio from a long-term perspective and consistently upgraded its global investment capabilities and risk management systems. With this, the NPS has become the only institution in the Asia-Pacific region to win the top pension fund award for nine consecutive years since 2018.
Chairman Kim Sung-joo stated, "These awards are a meaningful achievement showing that the NPS's long-term investment philosophy and management capabilities are recognized worldwide." He added, "We will continue to stably manage the public's precious retirement assets based on investment principles unshaken by market volatility and a global-standard management system."
