A collapse accident at the Seosomun overpass demolition site in Seoul’s Seodaemun District on Monday has disrupted operations for 302 train services, including KTX high-speed rail lines, according to Korea Railroad Corporation on Tuesday.

Korail said 123 high-speed train services were either suspended or operating on modified routes following the accident.

Among semi-high-speed services, 46 KTX-Eum trains on the Gangneung and Jungang lines are operating on shortened or altered routes. Another 133 conventional train services have either been suspended or partially rerouted.

Train operations between Seoul Station and Haengsin Station have been suspended, with partial services currently in operation.

KTX trains on the Gyeongbu and Honam lines are running only on the Seoul–Busan and Yongsan–Mokpo/Yeosu Expo routes, respectively, while making temporary stops at all stations along the routes. Gangneung and Jungang line KTX services are operating only between Cheongnyangni and Gangneung or Bujeon stations.

For Mugunghwa trains, Gyeongbu Line services are operating only between Daejeon and Busan stations, while Honam Line services are limited to the Seodaejeon–Mokpo/Yeosu Expo sections. Janghang Line services are operating between Iksan and Cheonan stations.

All ITX-Saemaeul and ITX-Maum trains are departing from and arriving at Suwon Station instead of Seoul Station.

Meanwhile, Gyeongui Line services are operating only between Munsan and Susaek stations.

A Korail official said train operations may continue to change depending on the progress of restoration work by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

“We ask passengers to check service updates in advance through the KorailTalk app, the official website, or the railway customer service center before traveling,” the official said.
