Chef Oh Se-deuk has strongly denied allegations surrounding an alleged 1 billion won fraud case, calling the claims “false information” and warning of legal action against those spreading rumors online.

The controversy escalated after online posts and social media discussions speculated that a celebrity identified only as “C” in a viral exposé was Oh himself.

In a statement posted on Threads, Oh said, “I clearly state that the claims currently circulating on social media are false and do not reflect the truth,” adding that the spread of false information carries “serious legal responsibility” and would be dealt with strictly.

Referring to documents that had been shared online, Oh said he personally filed criminal complaints related to additional investment contributions and alleged forged documents concerning share transfers.

He also disputed the authenticity of seals appearing on some documents, saying, “It is not Oh Se-deuk’s official seal stamp.”

Oh further explained that multiple members of the cooperative involved had reviewed the facts and corporate account transaction records related to investment funds, and had jointly filed several complaints and lawsuits alongside him.

“If the opposing side’s claims were true, there should instead be criminal complaints or lawsuits filed against me,” he said. “However, not a single complaint or lawsuit related to those allegations has been filed so far.”

The controversy began after an anonymous online post accused celebrity “C” of threatening employees at a farm operated by the poster’s mother and interfering with business operations. The writer also claimed that their mother had been a victim of a financial scam worth around 1 billion won allegedly committed by the celebrity’s family, suggesting the ongoing conflict was related to money issues.

Following the post, speculation rapidly spread across online communities and social media identifying Oh as the celebrity in question.

Oh pushed back against the claims, saying, “Some social media users are maliciously distorting facts by identifying me as the person referred to as ‘C’ in media reports, but this is a clear distortion of the truth.”

He added, “I hope people will not be misled by claims based on false information and engage in wrongful comments or secondary harm. The full truth will be clarified through proper procedures and investigation results.”
