Actor Park Shin-yang has gone viral online after promoting his upcoming solo art exhibition in a humorous short-form video released by Psick Show.
In the recently posted clip, Park personally announces the exhibition in a playful and self-aware manner, leaning into internet-style humor. Encouraging people to attend, he jokingly says, “Please come and help me make some profit,” a candid remark that quickly caught viewers’ attention.
He adds another comedic beat by warning that those who do not visit will be labeled “bamti,” a slang term meaning unattractive, before ending the video with a spirited shout of “Yar,” heightening the clip’s meme-like appeal.
Following the video’s release, online reactions poured in. Many viewers pointed out the contrast between Park’s intense drama roles of the past and his current lighthearted image. Others commented that his precise tone and delivery made him sound “like AI,” noting how accurately he replicated the text-to-speech style commonly used in short-form content.
Praise also followed for the clip’s execution. “It’s unexpectedly polished,” one user wrote, while others said, “You can really feel that he’s a seasoned actor,” and “It’s fascinating to see Park Shin-yang pull off internet memes so naturally.”
Park will hold his solo exhibition, Park Shin-yang’s Exhibition Show: The Fourth Wall, from March 6 to May 10 at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Museum in Jongno, central Seoul.
