Jang Si-ho, the niece of Choi Seo-won (formerly known as Choi Soon-sil), survived a fall from a high-rise building in Seoul early on September 4 and was rescued after being caught on a ledge, authorities said.

According to police and fire officials, Jang fell from the 12th floor of a residential building in Gangnam around 4 a.m. but was discovered nearly two hours later hanging onto a ledge on the 10th floor. Rescuers pulled her to safety and transported her to a hospital. She reportedly did not sustain serious injuries.

Jang is a well-known figure from the 2016–2017 state corruption scandal, in which she was both an accused participant and a key witness. She testified in parliamentary hearings and trials about Choi’s alleged abuses of power and influence-peddling.
