DL Construction announced on August 11 that CEO Kang Yoon-ho and the entire executive team have tendered their resignations following a fatal accident at an apartment construction site in Singok-dong, Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province. The company expressed deep condolences and apologized to the bereaved family, pledging comprehensive safety inspections and measures to prevent a recurrence.

In a statement, the company said, “We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the deceased, who tragically lost his life in this accident, and offer our heartfelt apology to his family.”

Immediately after the incident, DL Construction halted all work at its sites nationwide and launched emergency safety inspections, with operations to remain suspended until full safety is ensured.

The company stated, “We will make site safety our top priority so that workers who come to earn a living can return home safely each day. As part of this effort, CEO Kang Yoon-ho, Chief Safety Officer Ha Jung-min, as well as all executives, team leaders, and site managers have voluntarily submitted their resignations.”

It added, “From the CEO down to every executive, team leader, and site manager, we will stake our positions on securing safety. With a life-or-death determination, we will devote the company’s full resources to creating safe worksites.”

DL Construction also plans to hold a company-wide safety resolution rally — starting on August 11 at its headquarters, and later expanding to individual sites once safety checks are complete and operations resume.
