Rookie girl group Baby DONT Cry is heading to the baseball field just three weeks after their debut, with members Kumi and Beni set to throw the first pitch and take the ceremonial first swing at an upcoming KBO game.
Their agency P Nation announced on July 3 that Kumi and Beni will participate in the opening ceremonies of the game between the SSG Landers and KT Wiz on July 8 at Incheon SSG Landers Field. Kumi will be the pitcher, while Beni will handle the batter’s role.
“I’m honored to throw my very first pitch for SSG. I’m truly grateful to the team for giving me such a meaningful opportunity,” said Kumi. Beni added, “It’s my first time, so I’m really nervous, but I’ll take the plate with the hope that SSG secures a win.”
It’s rare for a rookie group just three weeks into their career to be invited to such an event. The appearance of the energetic and enthusiastic duo is expected to fire up the crowd. The members are reportedly preparing thoroughly to bring good luck to the team.
Baby DONT Cry recently made a strong debut with their single F Girl, gaining attention for their catchy sound and high-caliber performances. The group has been quickly building a fanbase and earning recognition as a rising “hot rookie” in the K-pop scene.
Their schedule is packed with major appearances: they’re slated to perform at 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer in July and KCON LA 2025 in August, drawing growing attention from both Korean and international K-pop fans.
