Ju Haknyeon has officially left K-pop group THE BOYZ following controversy surrounding his personal life. His exclusive contract with his agency, One Hundred, has also been terminated.
On June 18, One Hundred stated, “As soon as we were informed of Ju Haknyeon’s involvement in a private matter, we immediately suspended his activities and began verifying the facts.” The company added, “Given the seriousness of the issue and the difficulty of maintaining trust in him as an artist, we made the unavoidable decision to part ways, in order to protect the group and its remaining members.”
According to the agency, the decision was made after in-depth discussions with all members of THE BOYZ. The group will now continue as a 10-member team.
Earlier that day, News1 reported that Ju had privately met with former Japanese adult film actress Asuka Kirara during a trip to Japan in May. At the time, the agency only cited “personal reasons” for his suspension, leading to widespread speculation among fans.
