A female contestant from a popular Korean dating reality show is facing heavy backlash after posting a ballot photo in front of a presidential election ballot box on social media—clearly revealing her vote. The folded ballot exposed which candidate she had chosen.

On June 3, the day of the 21st presidential election, contestant “A,” known for her appearance on I Am Solo: Love Continues (Na Sol Sa Gye) “Golden Singles” edition, uploaded an Instagram story around 4 p.m. with the caption “♡ Voting complete ♡” along with a photo.

The image was taken directly in front of the ballot box, showing her hand holding a stamped ballot. The stamp’s imprint was clearly visible through the back of the folded ballot, fully exposing her vote. A portion of an election observer seated behind the ballot box also appeared in the shot.

Once the image spread online, netizens strongly criticized the post. Comments included: “The voting booth clearly says ‘No photography,’” “What was the person in front doing while this was being filmed?” “Neither she nor those around her seemed aware this was a problem,” “Was she trying to show off her vote?” and “A clout-chaser’s downfall.”

One netizen even reported the incident as a violation of the Public Official Election Act and posted confirmation of their report in an online community, claiming it was submitted to the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office’s election investigation division at around 7 a.m. on June 4.

As the controversy grew, “A” deleted the photo and set her account to private. However, the incident has already spread widely across online communities and social media.

According to the Public Official Election Act, photographing ballots inside a polling station is prohibited. Violators face up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 4 million won.

“A,” a former airline flight attendant, had gained viewer popularity on Na Sol Sa Gye for her poised appearance and calm voice.
