Park Jin-joo and Lee Mi-joo will be stepping down from the MBC variety show Hangout with Yoo, the production team confirmed on May 22. Beginning next month, the program will continue with a four-member lineup featuring Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung.
According to the show’s producers (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Lee Joo-won, Ahn Ji-seon, Lee Do-eun, Bang Sung-soo and written by Noh Min-seon), “Park Jin-joo and Lee Mi-joo will officially part ways with Hangout with Yoo after filming their final episode on May 22. Their farewell will be aired on May 31, where they’ll say their goodbyes to viewers.”
Lee Mi-joo joined the show in August 2021 and Park Jin-joo followed in September 2022. Both brought distinct charm and enthusiasm to the program. Park was noted for her impressive singing and comedic skills, while Lee brought youthful energy and candid humor as the youngest member.
“The decision was made after lengthy discussions with both cast members earlier this year, taking into consideration their future activities. We part ways with mutual support and deep gratitude,” said the producers. “We sincerely thank Park Jin-joo and Lee Mi-joo for brightening the show.”
Going forward, Hangout with Yoo will be led by Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung, who are expected to bring their chemistry and individual personalities to shape the next chapter of the show.
Hangout with Yoo airs every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on MBC.
