Actor Yoo Seung-ho has extended a warm gesture in support of children with severe illnesses and their families.
His agency, 333, announced on May 20 that Yoo donated 10 million won to RMHC Korea in celebration of Family Month. RMHC Korea is a global nonprofit organization that builds and operates Ronald McDonald Houses—shelters near hospitals that allow children undergoing serious treatment to stay with their families.
The donation will be used to support the construction of new facilities in the greater Seoul area and to provide comfortable, supportive housing environments for families undergoing long-term outpatient treatment.
Last month, Yoo personally visited the Ronald McDonald House in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, where he toured the facility and delivered heartfelt gifts and words of encouragement to young patients and their families, displaying sincere care and compassion.
“I’m grateful to share the love I’ve received over the years in a meaningful way,” Yoo said. “I joined this initiative with the hope that children can heal with less pain in the warm embrace of their families and rest without worry in a kind and caring space. I hope to offer a small spark of hope and courage as they pursue their dreams.”
Yoo has also been named ambassador for the upcoming 2025 McDonald’s Happy Walk event, set for May 25. In keeping with the event’s mission—where each step contributes to charity—he will walk alongside participating families, continuing to spread positive influence. All proceeds from Yoo’s donation and participant entry fees will be donated to RMHC Korea to support the treatment and care of patients and their families.
Meanwhile, Yoo is currently performing in the play Killing Caesar, where he portrays Brutus—a man who betrays his friend for the ideals of the republic—delivering an intense and emotionally charged performance.
