On July 2, KBS stated, "Park Hyung-sik, Nam Ji-hyun, and Seo Kang-joon will be involved in a love triangle in upcoming drama 'Why Are Families Being Like This'."

Park Hyung-sik will be playing Cha Dal-bong, who is Cha Gang-sim's younger brother who is energetic but careless. Park Hyung-sik said, "I'm so happy to be able to act with great seniors. I will do my best as an actor. I thank the director and writer for giving me such an important role. I feel the pressure but I have a greater desire to do well. Please show a lot of support and love for Dal-bong."

Nam Ji-hyun, who will be playing the role of Kang Seo-wool, said, "I feel the pressure of having a lot to learn and prepare for, but I'm happy and thankful that I can act with seniors for a long time. Please look forward to Kang Seo-wool and watch her beautiful love story."
