Tang Wei and director Kim Tae-yong to tie the knot

Chinese actress Tang Wei and Korean film director Kim Tae-yong will be getting married.

On July 2, Kim Tae-yong's management agency and film company Bom stated, "Kim Tae-yong and Tang Wei will tie the knot this fall. The wedding ceremony will be held in private with the blessings of their families and friends."

The two became friends while filming "Late Autumn" but their friendship developed into a romance after Tang Wei visited Korea in October 2013 to shoot a commercial.

The couple said, "We came to know and understand each other through a film. We became friends and lovers. Now, we are planning to be husband and wife. Despite the fact that it will be difficult to learn each other's mother language, even this difficulty will be the happiest moment. We believe we will grow to understand and respect each other even more during the process. Films will be our most significant witness. Thank you to all those who support us, and I hope all those who are destined to be with each other succeed in being together."
